Hippy

The 1970s were a time of war and a time of social change. If I were 20 at that time, I could see myself not wanting war. I would not only fear for my family’s life I would feel that every country in the world could be better if they minded their own business. However, I could not be a hippie. I might enjoy hippie’s music. I would sing protest songs loudly with my little sisters or my friends. I might have friends that are hippies. They could visit me if their van came to my town. I might even hold a sign during a picket protest. However, I have a sense of duty and love stability. I would be a college student working towards a career. I would be looking forward to having a professional life. I would hope to become a man with some power to say “Hey, other people with power. We should stop making decisions that hurt the people that don’t have what we have.” Maybe those people would not listen to hippies. Hippies are young and sometimes homeless. Hippies are wild and sometimes do drugs. Maybe those people would never listen to a hippie, but they would have to listen to me. I think it would be good to believe in something good and liberal, but be relatable to the people that are against it.
