1970's Hippie

If I had lived in the 1970's, I would have been a hippie because just like them I am against war.
Because of everything that was happening during the 1970's, I understand why hippies were protesting and seeking to be free spirits. They were looking for an escape from all the tension around them. However, I would probably have looked for another way of escaping like through books or leaving the country. On the other hand, I  would have  identified with them because of their goals and style, but I could have never been vegetarian, do drugs or fight "the man". I would just have been singing hymns against war, wearing the peace symbol and tie-dying shirts.
