Race
Race to me is like different looking people, for example, different color of skin, different facial feature, and different body type.
Racism is pretty much a negative word. A discrimination from one race of group people to other race of group people.
Civil right, according to my knowledge is a right to be a human being. To be able to do things that a human being needs to do. Like, freedom, justice, and fairness.

- race: it is when you run very fast some time by your foot some time by a car but i guess usually use for the second one. (;
- racism: it is kind of discrimination.
- Civil Rights: for example for civil rights it is when you say your opinion and respects people's opinion.
Race, Racism and Civil Rights
I think race is or was a concept to define the physical image of people from different ethnicities; I have learned since I arrived to the United States that the idea of race was created to discriminate people from different backgrounds because the truth is that all human beings are from the same specie. On the other hand, racism is when a person judges and discriminates someone because of their race or ethnicity.
Civil rights are the rights that all people should have such as freedom of speech, protection from discrimination and the freedom of thought. I think civil rights are part of the law in many countries, however, it is difficult to say If they are obeyed or not.
Racism
When I was in Thailand, I used to study a little bit about racism. I have just known that there is racism in the western world. Not until I came here, U.S., had I never thought that it is a big problem. Now I realize that racism is a big problem in this country, but I still do not understand why white people hate African American. For me, it is crazy if one judges other persons only because of their skin.
For the question: what is "racism?" The simply answer, in my opinion, is insulting people who do not come from the same common ground. Besides, they also do not give the same basic rights. At this time, although there are many regulations about forbidding racism, it still has racism in the societies.
Instead of finding the answer what racism is or what regulation is the best for getting rid of racism, we should attempt to find the answer: how can we do away with racism from every society?

Race has many meaning. One of the meaning that we learned in class is a group of people how have the same hereditary specification. Racism is discrimination among groups of people based on many things such as skin color, religion, tribe, and many different things. Civil Rights are personal rights that are legal by law such as freedom of speech and the right to vote. I would like to say that any person practice any kind of racism in my perspective that person is uneducated and underdeveloped as well!

Race, Racism, Civil Right
Race
is the term used to human classification according to some associations such as
religions, geographical, ethic, and linguistic .
''Racism''
is a hotly debated topic in the world.
In my opinion, I define these six letters like a huge issue because many
people around the world suffer due this problem. Racism is the way of discrimination, is when
someone don’t like people because he/she has different or superior race. Some
persons lose much kind of opportunities just because they have some characteristics
consider ''not acceptable''. Also, there are many types of racism: color,
culture, gender and others.
Civil
Right is related to the rights of each person to receive equal treatment.
Racism
- Race: It´s a group of persons with common descent. This word is used by people to categorize to others according to their physical characteristics.
- Civil rights: are the rights of individuals to receive equal treatment.
I Have a Dream
What is ''race''?
What is "racism"?
What are "Civil Rights"?
I believe a person's race is only based on how they look. I might look like people that are from countries near mine, but we are not really the same. Some people would think we are the same because we have the same hair or skin. Race is putting people into groups not based on where they are from or what they do. It doesn't relate to culture. Just looks.
Racism is terrible. It is putting people above or below each other based on how they look. When you group someone by their race, you are ignoring everything about them. There is no way to know what a person does or what they think by looking at them. Many people in America talk about race and not very many people mention it in Saudi Arabia. I don't feel comfortable talking about race with people. I want to understand it, more.
Civil Rights are something people of many races have fought for. I think it involves the law, mostly. Even after a government grants race groups civil rights, sometimes the regular people still have problems with the outcome. It is important for people to be equal in their government's eyes, but it would be best if they were equal in each other's eyes, too.
Racism
Race is a group of people who share the
same feature like white, black, and Asian. Racism is based on a belief that one
race is superior to other races. Centuries ago white people made black people
as slaves. The slaves had no human rights, and they were treated as a property.
After the civil war in America, the slaves got freedom. However, discrimination
was still going on for a long time. For example, segregation policy divided white
people and other races. Non- white people could not study at the same school,
and even bus and streetcar had a designated seat by the race. Black people tried
to fight to gain the human right, and it is called “Civil right movement.”

The Cold War
I learned today about the Cold War and that most
of the wars the United States is a party, either with Russia or the Soviet
Union. The relationship consists of interests between states and relationship ends when they finish interests and start wars
with each other.

USA wars
As i rad so far, I learned that most of the countries who had war with USA, were in friendship with it. i want it to know How these friendship turned into wars. is it all the same problem ? what i knew so far is, most of it started with defect of political relations between small countries. But in some way or how, the US government interfere between these countries. For example, the WWII with japan, Vietnam, and Afghanistan. And then everything get missed up and turned against US. so far, i didn't know what is the main reason for all that .
"cold war" means the relationship between the USA and USSR and than that name become for every unreal war or light fighting between any relationship have same situation which had been between the USA and USSR.
I think this kind of subject is good for our knowledge; I don't study that before. so, it is a little bit challenging for me.
I think this kind of subject is good for our knowledge; I don't study that before. so, it is a little bit challenging for me.
The Cold War
Today's class was very interesting, I could
learn that the Cold War was a long period of tension
between the democracies of the Western World and the communist countries of
Eastern Europe. The west was led by the United States and Eastern Europe was
led by the Soviet Union. These two countries became known as superpowers.
Although the two superpowers never officially declared war on each other, they
fought indirectly in proxy wars, the arms race, and the space race.
About Cold War
Today in our culture class we learned cold war. One thing that I learned from the class that Capitalism fear of Communism, Communism fear of Capitalism. The two representative ones of Capitalism and Communism are USA and USSR. They try to compete with each other on technology field. Each of them wanted to be the top country of the world. They fell in a cold war with each other. Superficially looked peace, but attached each other at behind. I think USA and Russia are still not friends in nowadays. In many fields USA still try to block Russia, and Russia is always ready for the one who wants to bully them. I'm looking forward to when the cold war result will really end.
Cold War
Today we learned about Cold war. Korea was the first battle
field of the war, so the meaning was so special for me.
The same Korean killed each
other 60 years ago, and South Korea and North Korea are still fighting each other
even though Cold war was over.
Recently the relationship between North and South Korea is really bad
and serious because North Korea want to have nuclear bombs.
North Korea is threatening South
Korea and the United States, and I am worry about my family in Korea.
I
hope North Korea is not so much stupid to start a war again. Cold war is still
continuing in my country, and the solution is not easy to get.
"War"
Today we studied about the cold war in cultural class. Actually, I have learnt about it when I was in High school, but I do not know the sequence of the cold war and the real meaning of it. Nevertheless, at the present time, after finishing class, I know and understand what was going on at that time more.
In my opinion, cold war is the ugly and selfish war because both sides did the war in the other territory. It is not fair for population in that country because the result of the war made them lose something such as family, house, and friends. However, the best way for solve the conflict is to compromise and negotiate because no one wins and no one loses in this way.

Today's culture class
We learned in today's culture class about the cold war and how was the relationship between US and USSR before and after world war 2. We learned the differences between warm, hot, and cold war. We discussed words such as hiroshima which are actually not new words, but I often heard about them. Honestly, I love my culture class' teacher, but I really can't digest history and politics while I love watching historical stories as movies!

Vietnam War Class
Today in my culture class, I learned
about the Vietnam war. I didn't have any previous knowledge about this topic,
so it was pretty interesting even though I don't agree at all with any type of
war. In my opinion, it was kind of impressive how right after World War II the
United States was part of another war already. I also think that during
the Vietnam war the United States was smart enough to have this client
states instead of hosting a war in their own territory because that way the
U.S government avoided the death of people who were not in the army and the
damage of their territory. Furthermore, the class made me think in what If the
USSR had shouted the missiles to the U.S? How the life in America would be
affected today?

Contradictions
The contradiction between the desire for family and family life, and the pursuit of individual freedom, poses a huge problem to American society. Many of you have pointed out that while Americans say that family values are of primary importance, often the needs of the individual (the adult individual) are put first, comprising the stability of the family.
To continue the conversation, I would like to pose the following questions to you:
To continue the conversation, I would like to pose the following questions to you:
- If a married couple argue and fight on a regular or constant basis, what affect do you think this has on their children?
- If a married couple decide to end their marriage because they argue and fight on a regular or constant basis, what affect do you think this has on their children?
- Which of the two above situations do you think is best and/or worse for children to grow up in?

The family role
It seems that divorce is a mediocre problem in the U.S., the country that gives value in the freedom and the equality. However, in my opinion, this problem is not a small problem at all because it can cause other problems after that.
The role of the family is very important because in every society consists of many families staying in the same area. The family is the first institute that is responsible for instructing children that will be part of the society. Although children can learn a lot of things from outside such as school, some lesson it is more suitable and better if they are taught by their family. Moreover, it is widely accepted that if the family institute strengthens that means they teach their children very well, the social problem like a crime will be reduced.
Although both freedom and equality are important rights, people should use them in the responsible way.

The American family in society has effects. Some families
have freedom and equality of each member because some of them love to see their
life. However, family in America, I do not think they live with each other for
a long time because they understand freedom incorrectly. On the other hand, in
Saudi Arabia we have different society and role. We have to follow the customs
and traditions. The important thing in our culture is convergence of family and
lives in the same house.

The Role of the Family in Society
The role of family in the United
States has been changed a lot. As a result, traditional families have been
changed into step families and blended families. In Korea, according to
increasing divorce rate, the similar types of families are showed up recently.
However, Korean doesn’t want to reveal the fact that their parents are
divorced. It is consider as a shame of the family, so they want to hide it. But
in America, it is very common to live with step father or step mother. Some sociologist
argues that marriage will be disappeared in the future, and actually many European
live without marriage.
Family? Culture?
After reading the articular I found that'Freedom' is just a big word that nearly few people that understand what does it truly means. With family and the kids in the family who are looking for what they call freedom. They would rather live alone in a cold hard place when their family wanted to give them everything. The family in America are having a really hard time living together. What happened is that they just get a divorce. They just go to their separate ways. The children would be in the half of everything. When their parents get remarried to another person they have to deal with the fact that the new person my have kids of his own or not. They have to live with more than one grandparents, but it is in their favorite. That means more free things for them. What a lot of people don't know is that the meaning of life comes from the inside of the house. They teach moral and other life changing in their life.
The Comment of the Role of the Family in Society
After reading the article of the Role of the Family Society I had a general idea of American family-- people who cherish their freedom and equality very much. They are willing to be less stable and lasting of families, instead of sacrifice freedom and happiness to keep the family complete. In China, some people would do that just to give a child a complete parenting environment. But Americans have their own definition of family, "people who live together and love each other." This definition is suitable in China, too, but not much. Most families are traditional style, which contains a father, mother and a child (China is a one-child-only country by law). I admire the spirit of American pursue freedom, but at the meantime I think American pursue for themselves too much. They believe it is OK for a child to grow up with one parent, but I don't believe. One-parent growing environment can affect the child's psychological health. I had seen lots of children who had broken the law that grew up with single parent, no matter in America or China. Another notable phenomenon is that America has lots of blended family, which is very common, but it is not common in where I'm from. In China, lots of parents would worry about step-fathers or step-mothers will not treat their children as own. They think step parents are dangerous. Americans probably do not think so, but personally I had heard of some bad stories of step parents. I don't think super pursue freedom is a safe opinion of American. They can get happiness through pursuing this concept of life, but the results of it probably won't be as positive as they think.
The Role of the Family in Society
Definitely, the Role of the Family in American Society has become a much topic broader, because are many contradictions. For Americans the word family has a strong importance and is related to happiness, and the best of all lifestyle. However, are many facts that shows the opposite and tell us that not everything is one hundred percent true. For example, the high rate of divorce, new partner, remarry, many children are living with stepmother or stepfather, single parents, child with four sets of grandparents, and as result blended families.
All these facts, reminds me the quote '' not everything that glimmers is gold'', people can tell you they are very happy with their family life, however at home are many problems.

The Role of the Family in Society
Regarding to what I read in the article "The Role of the Family in Society," I one hundred percent believe that a stable family is a great environment to raise well adjusted children. Since family is the first to have an impact on the children's behavior. What I read in this article regarding "blended families" reminded me of the situation in my country if the husband has more than one wife and children with those extra wives. This situation almost create competition between the children because of their mothers!
